How to Relieve Tired Eyes Naturally

Eyes are the windows to the soul. Sparkling, well-rested eyes are the most beautiful accessory. But these days, people don’t treat them the way eyes deserve to be treated. I am also included in this. Often, I sit in front of a computer for hours without taking breaks. Eyes, just like the rest of the body, need breaks and rest.

There are ways to relieve tired eyes naturally and this is what I will cover in this article. You can use this article as an easy-to-follow step-by-step guide to eye rejuvenation. The natural way.

Understanding tired eyes and its causes

You can preserve the health of your eyes for many years. Equally, you can completely ruin your eyes in youth. There are many causes for tired eyes.

If you are reading or typing when lighting is poor your eyes strain to keep up with the demand. If the light is too bright, like in an office, this affects the eyes negatively.

You should not be using a computer or reading for many hours without rest breaks. You have to give your eyes a rest from the screen.

If you are reading in a car or when using public transport this affects your eyes negatively. Your hands are shaking when you are moving so your eyes have to strain to focus on the words. This leads to tired eyes. Tired eyes can also lead to under-eye bags.

A lot of the time, tired eyes are caused by lack of sleep, stress, and long working hours.

I am sad to say that most people will experience tired eyes because most of us work, and work long hours. I would love for you to stop working and enjoy your life. That would be a great way to relieve tired eyes naturally. Not working will help you live a healthier lifestyle.

Quitting jobs is not an option for most people. So we all have to deal with tired eyes.

Hopefully, these remedies will help you relieve tired eyes naturally.

The importance of natural remedies for tired eyes

I think there are many natural remedies for tired eyes. I might be biased, but I think that the natural remedies suggested here are more effective and low-cost (as always).

Natural remedies have a deeper benefit than helping relieve tired eyes. They can strengthen eye muscles leading to better eyesight. Natural remedies can reduce under-eye wrinkles or eye bags. This is because natural remedies involve many herbs beneficial for the eyes and skin. Herbs that are natural and chemical free.

4 Home remedies for relieving tiredness and strengthening eye muscles

1. Eye yoga exercises

You can prevent eye tiredness naturally with some eye yoga. It would help if you did these eye yoga exercises daily.

Sit facing straight in front of you. Always keep your head straight.

Move your gaze to the right, all the way.

Then move your gaze all the way up

Move your gaze to the left

Move your gaze down to the floor.

After a short break repeat the above in the opposite order. So move your gaze left, down, right, and up.

Repeat 3 times.

2. Eye mask

Eye masks feed your eyes with vitamins, which help relieve tiredness naturally.

Chamomile eye mask – Boil a handful of chamomile in a pot as if making tea. Let this chamomile tea cool. Dip a cotton pad in chamomile tea and cover your eyes. Leave it on for 10 minutes. If the cotton pads dry, dip them into the chamomile tea again.

Tea eye mask – after you have made tea, allow the teabags to cool slightly. Cover your eyes with the tea bags for 10 minutes.

Skin icing for the eyes – in the morning use an ice cube (a herbal ice cube) to apply around the eye area. For the herbal ice cube, just make a chamomile or mint tea as above and pour it into ice cube moulds. Freeze.

3. Sleep for relieving tired eyes naturally

One of the best ways to relieve tired eyes naturally is sleep.

Try and get at least 8 hours of sleep per day. When you sleep, your body has the chance to rest leaving you feeling fresh in the morning. Don’t make a habit of sitting up late watching TV. Your eyes strain to focus leaving them looking tired. There is never anything good on TV anyway. The same goes for social media.

Don’t make a habit of working late, this has the same effect as watching TV for hours. I know this is easier said than done, but try!

4. Vitamins for naturally beautiful eyes

A good healthy diet is the general advice for every natural remedy. You should eat foods rich in A, D, B, and C. If you know that you are not getting enough vitamins from the foods, take vitamin supplements.

I do think that most of us do not spend enough time outside to get the benefits of vitamin D. This is especially true if you are working in an office all day. You could add a vitamin D supplement to your diet. I do not recommend you replace your food with vitamin supplements. Vitamin supplements are not natural. They are made synthetically, so try your best to eat healthy food.

How to incorporate self-care practices for eye health

How to incorporate self-care practices for eye health

For healthy eyes naturally, you need to make time for them. I always say this. The most important thing you can do for your eyes is to make them a priority.

For example, in the evening when you are in bed, you can do eye exercises. After you have finished your skincare routine, you can do the eye yoga exercises.

On a weekend when you have the most time, have a relaxing bath and put some tea bags on your eyes. In the evening make some chamomile tea and make a soothing chamomile eye mask. You can drink the tea too! Double the benefit.

Conclusion: Embracing natural remedies for refreshed eyes

As with all natural remedies, having naturally beautiful fresh eyes needs time and effort. More importantly, these natural remedies need consistency. So if you stick to the eye yoga for a week and then give up, you will not see a difference.

Looking after your eyes needs a lifestyle change. But it is not what you think. A lot of the things your eyes need are just general healthy living: eating well, getting enough sleep, and reducing screen time.
