General Treatment Through applying pressure on Acupressure Points
What is acupressure?
Acupressure is an alternative therapy (health treatment technique) that works on similar principles as acupuncture. It is ideal for self-treatment and preventive health care. In this acupressure points therapy, the pressure is applied on acupoints to clear blockages from the meridians and release the muscular tension that works on the concept that life energy flows through meridians in the body.
How to apply pressure on acupressure points?
Apply pressure on an empty stomach on acupoints on the meridians through fingers, thumb, palm, and elbow or with special devices for about 20 seconds. There are 12 main meridians. Interestingly, these meridians are connected with the brain and from there to various organs.

In case of any health problem, while applying pressure to acupoints the person feels pain on that particular point or points connected with the health condition. Moreover, pressure increases blood circulation and stimulates the body’s natural self-curative abilities. However, one should not eat anything for about half an hour after acupressure.
There are two more meridians which are called conceptional vessels and governing vessel. Conceptional vessel deals with the front middle line that starts from the point between the anus and uterus and ends below the center of the lower lip.
The governing vessel starts from the tailbone, moves up through of middle of the spine; continues from the middle of the head, and ends inside the center of the upper lip.
How to trace the acupoint?
Apply pressure on the point and on the nearby areas. The spot that is most pressure-sensitive is the ideal acupoint to treat the health issue.
Points in the underneath figures are general points for the body organs and connected diseases. Similar points are at both sides of the hands and feet. There are many more points for curing the diseases that we will discuss in detail separately for the individual disease. Also, massaging around these points gives an additional health benefit to cure the diseases.
