This mum is looking and feeling INCREDIBLE after losing 22 kilos in 10 months!
R’Echele Mjadwesch has transformed her health by taking control of her lifestyle and losing a whopping 22 kilos in just 10 months!
Determined not to develop any health complications due to her size, R’Echele turned her lifestyle around with the help of The Healthy Mummy and cannot believe how good she feels!

R’Echele’s Weight Loss Journey
R’Echele Mjadwesch from Lithgow is 42 with two kids aged 11 and 8.
Being able to care for others was R’Echele’s main motivator for wanting to lose weight and live her healthiest life. Back in November last year, she found herself at the heaviest weight she’d ever been. As the primary carer and support for not only her elderly mum and unwell father-in-law, but also her husband and her own kids, she knew she need to make a change.
“I thought if I don’t take care of myself how can I take care of anyone else??”
“My mother has many health problems that predispose me to many problems in the future if I didn’t make some lifestyle changes now. I needed to be a good role model for my kids and mould healthy habits for life long wellness for us all.”
R’Echele purchased the Healthy Mummy Busy Mums’ Guide to Weight Loss on a Budget last December and as a family planned the first weeks meals, shopped and got to cooking.

What R’Echele eats in a typical day
Breakfast: Healthy Mummy Smoothie or prepped breakfast slice, banana bread or muffin
Morning tea: Fruit
Lunch: Salad or wrap along with a handful of nuts
Afternoon ea: Healthy Mummy apple pie bar.
Dinner: Almost always from the many delicious recipes on the app and is served for the whole family
Dessert: We don’t always have dessert at our house but there are so many quick and easy options on the app to prepare in advance of at a minute’s notice if the urge is there.
R’Echele’s Favourite Meals
- Fruity breakfast slice. It’s tasty and filling. It’s super easy to cook and freezes well too!!
- Pumpkin, Feta and Choirzo salad
- Turkey meatballs,
- Stove top lasagne
- Chicken spaghetti bake
- The choc chip cookie tart and the
- 2 ingredient Panacotta are on the menu on a regular basis for snacks.
R’Ecele’s Three tips for success
- Set achievable goals and be kind to yourself.
- Don’t change everything overnight – you didn’t gain the weight in a day, it will take time to adjust to a new lifestyle (it takes 3 months to form new habits)
- Get a good fitness tracker to help you keep on top of your daily activities and help you push that little bit more.
R’Ecele also has some awesome advice for mums starting out on a new health journey.
“Start. Just start small. You can’t change anything if you don’t start somewhere. Pick a few recipes from the app to try. Reduce your meal portions for meals not from the app. Try and drink a little more water each day until you are able to drink 2L a day at least. Have fun and be kind to yourself.”
