To say this day is long overdue would be an understatement. We’ll admit, there was even a time we lost hope in the return of OxyElite Pro. But it is in fact in back and in-stock. So the real question becomes is it worth the buy in 2022? We’re gonna answer that question and more in this post so keep reading.

Why Was OxyElite Pro Discontinued?

Before we can go into what’s new, we should go over what happened in the first place. So for anyone who wasn’t taking fat burners prior to 2013, here’s what you missed out on:

First OxyElite Pro by USP Labs was one of the top selling thermogenic fat burners. This product was revolutionary in the supplement industry and tons of people got great results while taking it.
At this time, OxyElite Pro still featured DMAA in it’s formula.
Sadly, the manufacturer USP Labs discontinued OxyElite Pro, which left a huge void that no other fat burner could fill (until now).

Unfortunately, there were serious health issue claims after usage of OxyElite, among other products featuring DMAA. So, as you can imagine, this isn’t the same formula.

So, what did the fans of OxyElite turn to after their favorite fat burner was taken away? This part of the story you probably know. During the absences of OxyElite Pro, another fat burner ,Hydroxyelite, came out. And believe it or not the original Hydroxyelite had the same formula as OxyElite.

How did they get away this?

They didn’t. Hydroxyelite has had it’s fair share of revisions too. The good news is that there is another stimulant to take DMAA’s place and its here to stay. So the likelihood of the formula changing again is slim.

Original OxyElite Pro VS New OxyElite Pro:

Let’s be honest, this is probably why you came to this blog anyway. So let’s jump the gun now and you can keep reading for the comparison on Hydroxyelite.

OxyElite Pro Old VS New

First things first, here are the labels. Notice anything? The actual bottles are slightly different in shape, but the labels are nearly the same. Next, we’ll dive into OxyElite Pro’s ingredients.

The image above shows the formulas for both the original formula and the new version available today. To make things even easier, we’ve highlighted the differences in the labels.

Here you can see that on of the largest changes is instead of:

1,3-Dimethylamylamine HCl (DMAA) → 2-Aminoisoheptane HCl (DMHA)

And there was the addition of Geranium Extract. But, that’s all the changes!

So what is the difference between DMHA and DMAA?

We go in this a little more in detail in our DMHA Guide (feel free to check that out, we’ll wait for you to come back).

To be brief, the chemical structures are very similar between DMHA and DMAA. As a result of the similarities, they may have similar effect on energy/focus. But, some consumers say the focus boost they get from DMHA is more prevalent than the energy.† This of course will vary person to person.

Additionally, customers say that the energy they get from DMHA lasts longer, although it isn’t as intense as DMAA was, which could make it better for an all-day energy supply. Customers also say they feel more of a boost in mood/focus and as well as a decrease in appetite.† Given that up to this point, studies on DMHA are still lacking, these effects are only anecdotal, so not guaranteed.

Does OxyElite Pro contain 1,3 Dimethylamylamine HCl (DMAA) 2022?

No… not anymore.

Now Hydroxyelite and OxyElite Pro features 2-aminoisoheptane as its main stimulant. Since 2015, the FDA and DMAA have been going in and out of the courts and at least for now (2022) Hi-Tech is unable to manufacture this ingredient in their products. Other products in their line, or other brand’s line containing DMAA also have been reformulated without it.

So what’s the deal with the Geranium Extract?

If you didn’t know, Geranium Oil is actually the source of DMAA. (1) Unfortunately, seeing this in the formula doesn’t mean DMAA is in the new version of OxyElite Pro.

Just to be clear: There is no DMAA in OxyElite as of December 2022.

So what’s the point of this ingredient? Think about it like the ephedrine vs ephedra debacle. While Geranium Extract is featured in this formula, it’s stripped of the DMAA Alkaloids. So what you’re left with is a potentially similar, but weaker version. Unlike the ephedrine vs ephedra case, we don’t any studies on the strength or similarities between these two, at least not yet.

But this could help boost the effects of the DMHA.†

How To Take USP Labs OxyElite Pro:

The manufacturers recommend taking one to two (1-2) capsules in the morning and one (1) capsule after lunch. Do not exceed 4 capsules daily. OxyElite can be taken with or without food. For those that have a sensitive stomach it is recommended to take it with food.

Hydroxyelite is a thermogenic by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals with nearly the exact formula as USP labs OxyElite Pro with the addition of Garcinia Cambodia extract.

Shared Ingredients:	Bauhinia Purpurea Extract, Bacopa Monnieri Extract, Cirsium Oligophyllum Extract, 2-Aminoisoheptane HCl (DMHA), Caffeine

As you can tell, the formulas are pretty similar. But there are some key differences:

Instead of:

Geranium Extract → Walnut Bark Extract
Yohimbe Extract → Rauwolscine Extract

And in Hydroxyelite, we have the addition of Garcinia Cambogia Extract.

First, we have the Walnut Extract, which follows the same trend as OxyElite. DMHA is sourced from the walnut tree, so like the Geranium Extract, it’ may help boost the effects of DMHA.† Next, we have the Rauwolscine and Yohimbe Extracts.

Rauwolscine is known as a diastereoisomer of Yohimbine. Because of this, it has very similar effects as yohimbine and yohimbe. Meaning they are both alpha-receptor antagonist, and they can block the action of the receptors responsible for stopping lipolysis (fat breakdown). So these ingredients allows your body to keep breaking down fat beyond the point in exercise where it would normally stop (2).

Garcinia Cambodia is a fruit that contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA) which acts to suppress appetite and enhance fat loss. HCA inhibits citrate lyase, an enzyme used to synthesize fat in the body. It also can helps your body use glucose more efficiently, lowering blood sugar (3).

How To Take Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals Hydroxyelite:

The manufacturers recommend taking one to two (1-2) capsules in the morning and one (1) capsule in the afternoon, after lunch. Do not exceed four (4) capsules of HydroxyElite daily.

For starters, Lipodrene is typically better for individuals looking for an all-encompassing fat burner. So this fat burner may be better for promoting thermogenesis, energy, mood, and appetite suppression. While, OxyElite may aid in these areas as well, Lipodrene is likely to feel “stronger”. Here “stronger” refers to physical sensations you may experience from taking Lipodrene. Such that includes, more energy/focus, better appetite suppression, or an increase in sweating.†

Interestingly, consumers of Hydroxyelite typically don’t like Lipodrene if they enjoy Hydroxyelite. Likewise, individuals who like Lipodrene, typically don’t like Hydroxyelite.

So what does that mean for you?

Chances are if you tried OxyElite in 2022 and didn’t like it, Lipodrene may be more up your alley. And the good news is we’ve already covered the major differences between Hydroxyelite and Lipodrene!

Unlike the other fat burners in this post, Oxy Xtreme is popular for its mood boosting properties, rather than typical fat burner properties. Unfortunately, the entire formula is within a proprietary blend. Therefore, we can’t compare the individual ingredients with OxyElite Pro by dosage.

So where does Oxy Xtreme stand for you?

Oxy Xtreme is likely better for individuals looking for energy, focus, and a mood boost. The biggest contributor to the mood boost being from the Sceletium Tortuosum Extract or Kanna Extract. This ingredient is rising in popularity in fat burners and pre workouts alike for its mood and well-being boosting properties. (4,5)

How To Take Brand New Energy Oxy Xtreme:

The manufacturers recommend taking one (1) capsule on an empty stomach 15-30 minutes before breakfast. An additional one (1) capsule may be taken 3-6 hours later. Once tolerance has been assessed, an additional capsule may be added in the morning.

Our last product comparison is with Genone Lab’s Oxy Lean Elite.

Different Ingredients:	Ashwagandha, Theophylline Anhydrous, Niacin, N-Isopropylnorsynephrine, Thermo-V, Magnesium, Rawolscine, Max Endure XT, Selenium

Like Oxy Xtreme, Oxy Lean Elite shares a similar name and look to OxyElite Pro. However, the formulas are once again very different. Between these two products, only Caffeine and Bacopa Monnieri Extract are in common. But, once again, the entire formula is within a proprietary blend. Even so, Oxy Lean Elite is a popular alternative to OxyElite Pro and Hydroxyelite. Oxy Lean Elite features about 175.5mg more active ingredients than OxyElite Pro.

As the formula consists of mostly stimulants, this product may be too stimulant heavy for some individuals. Therefore if you found OxyElite Pro to be too strong for you, we would not suggest trying this product. Consequently, because of the prop blend, we can’t be sure the volume of stimulants make up the majority of the blend. So some individuals may feel this fat burner is weaker in strength. As always individual results will vary.

How To Take Genone Labs Oxy Lean Elite:

The manufacturers recommend taking one (1) capsule 30-45 minutes after your first large meal of the day. Due to extreme potency, one may wish to assess tolerance by breaking the capsule and taking half for a few days before progressing to a full capsule. Do not exceed two (2) capsules in a 24 hour period

What Can You Expect?

If you have taken OxyElite Pro in the past and enjoyed it, you can expect to see similar if not even better results with the new formula. If you are new to thermogenic fat burners, please keep in mind that this is a powerful product. You may need to assess your tolerance to stimulants before trying this product. Caffeine sensitive individuals may feel an even greater affect from the stimulants in these products, which can make you feel a bit jittery and uncomfortable.

However, we would recommend Hydroxyelite specifically for people who are looking for a strong appetite suppressant. While, if you are looking for more energy, the new OxyElite Pro may be the better option for you.

Whereas, Lipodrene with Ephedra would be better option for individuals who’ve tried either Hydroxyelite or OxyElite Pro and did not like it. This fat burner optimal for individuals looking for a strong thermogenic.

Next, we have Oxy Xtreme and Oxy Lean Elite. We would recommend these fat burners for individual that do not like the effects of DMHA but still want a stim-focused fat burner. Oxy Xtreme may be better for individuals with a high tolerances to stimulants as it has more active ingredients per servings. But, Oxy Lean Elite may be better for individuals interested in a thermogenic-stimulant fat burner.

So should you switch?

It depends. If you’re seeing results with Hydroxyelite (or a different fat burner) stick with it. But if, you feel like you’re hitting that plateau, try OxyElite.
